カキ氷やアイスクリームの発展は目を見張る物があるように感じています。
幼少期には眼にしたことがないようなヴァリエーション豊かなアイスクリームが、いまでは、所狭しとコンビニの冷凍庫のなかという市販レベルで陳列していますからね。
いわんや専門店においておや、といった風情で、カキ氷やアイスクリームはすさまじい競争社会のなかでしのぎを削りながら（カキ氷の場合は、削られながら、でしょうか）日々あたらしい味や姿が開発されつづけているのではないでしょうか。
しかし、だからといって、幼少期に食べた風船のさきっぽを犬歯で噛みちぎってチューチューすするようなアイスがおいしくなかったか、というと、実際の味では劣るのでしょうけれども、記憶している味としては、最新のアイスクリームの技術の粋を尽くしたような味にまさるとも劣らないといった側面があります。
ひどくベタベタしていたことや、犬歯であけた穴からぴゅーぴゅー飛び出していく中身のことを思い出すと、やっぱり劣っているのかも、と自信がなくなってもきますが……。
